Meet Sophie Jones: The New CEO of the Royal Television Society

The Royal Television Society (RTS), a prominent British television and media forum, has named Sophie Jones, currently the Chief Strategy Officer at BPI, as its new CEO. Jones, who joined the music trade association in 2020, brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles at Channel 4, ITV, and ITN. She will succeed Theresa Wise and work closely with the RTS Board of Trustees to oversee the Society's educational activities, awards, conventions, and membership community.

Jane Turton, Chair of the RTS Board of Trustees, expressed her excitement about Sophie Jones taking on the role of CEO. Jones' background in production and broadcasting will be instrumental in navigating the rapidly changing media landscape. Jones herself emphasized her passion for the educational aspects of the Society and the opportunities it provides for talent development and inclusivity in the industry.

As she prepares to lead the RTS into its next chapter, Jones acknowledges the impressive legacy left by her predecessor, Theresa Wise. With the support of the RTS team, Board, and volunteers across the UK, Jones is eager to continue championing excellence, supporting new talent, and ensuring that the Society remains a dynamic and inclusive hub for the industry.
