Exploring the Cosmic Journey of Jon Anderson's Olias of Sunhillow: A Look Back and Ahead

After completing their 1975 tour, the members of Yes decided to take a break and focus on their solo projects. Jon Anderson, the band's vocalist, released his solo debut album, Olias of Sunhillow, in 1976. The album was inspired by a story related to the power of music and the Pleiades star system. Anderson's vision for the album involved creating a ship that traveled through powerful energies, driven by singing chants.
To bring his vision to life, Anderson had to synchronize multiple tracks of audio with various instruments, including percussion and keyboards. The process was challenging and involved a lot of trial and error. Despite initial difficulties, Anderson eventually succeeded in getting all the tracks to sync together, creating a harmonious blend of sounds that left him in awe.
The 50th-anniversary reissue of Olias of Sunhillow is now available for preorder on vinyl. Anderson is also working on a sequel to the album and has been collaborating with the Band Geeks on new music. He has a busy schedule of tour dates lined up for 2026, including shows in the U.S. and overseas. The legendary vocalist continues to captivate audiences with his music and creative endeavors.
