Florida State Seminoles Players Earn Rookie Minicamp Invitations After Limited NFL Draft Picks

The Florida State Seminoles had only one player selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, continuing a trend of limited draft picks for the program in recent years. This marked the fourth time in seven years that only one Seminole player was chosen, a departure from the program's history prior to 2020.

Despite the lack of draft selections, several former Seminoles have received opportunities to showcase their skills at the professional level. Two more players, offensive tackle Micah Pettus and long snapper Mason Arnold, recently earned rookie minicamp invitations. Pettus will be attending the Kansas City Chiefs' minicamp, while Arnold is set to participate with the Buffalo Bills.

If Pettus and Arnold impress during minicamp, they may secure spots on the 90-man roster as teams are allowed to sign additional players during the offseason. Pettus, who transferred to Florida State in 2025 from Ole Miss, started 11 games at right tackle and was a key contributor to the Seminoles' offense. Arnold, on the other hand, served as the starting long snapper for Florida State for the past two seasons and received accolades for his performance.

Pettus, a veteran offensive lineman, started 40 games over four years and was recognized as the team's Offensive Newcomer of the Year during his lone season at FSU. Arnold, a fifth-year senior, transferred to FSU in 2023 after playing at Ohio State and was instrumental in the success of the Seminoles' special teams unit. Both players have demonstrated their skills and potential to succeed at the professional level, and their upcoming minicamp opportunities will be crucial in determining their future in the NFL.
