Christchurch Mosque Shooter's Guilty Plea Appeal Denied by New Zealand Court

A white supremacist who carried out a mass shooting at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, killing 51 Muslims, recently failed in his attempt to withdraw his guilty pleas in the country's Court of Appeal. The three-judge panel rejected Brenton Tarrant's argument that he was coerced into admitting to the terrorism, murder, and attempted murder charges due to harsh prison conditions. Tarrant, an Australian national now aged 35, committed the heinous act in March 2019 by shooting worshippers during Friday prayers at the mosques using semiautomatic weapons.
