The show follows 13-year-old Sean, who spends weekends with his dad Ian after his parents' divorce. Ian tries his best to bond with his son, but his efforts often lead to comedic mishaps. The voice cast includes Cusack, Dario Russo, David Ashby, and Felicity Ward. Dad’s House is a collaboration between Princess Pictures and Bento Box Entertainment.
The series is set in suburban Australia and promises a mix of humor and heartwarming moments as Ian navigates single fatherhood. Dad’s House joins Netflix's lineup of adult animated comedies, such as Haunted Hotel and Long Story Short, which are returning for a second season. Cusack recently announced the end of Smiling Friends, a show he co-created with Zach Hadel, after its third season. Despite the show's success, both creators felt burnt out and decided to conclude the series on a high note. Cusack shared that they felt accomplished but ready to move on to new projects.
