Former University of Cincinnati Quarterback Enters Treatment Program for Gambling Addiction

A former University of Cincinnati quarterback has recently entered a treatment program to address his gambling addiction. Brendan Sorsby, who previously played for UC and signed with Texas Tech, has taken an indefinite leave of absence. Sorsby, who started his college career at Indiana University before transferring to Cincinnati, allegedly placed thousands of online bets on various sports through a gambling app. Despite his gambling activities, he did not bet on the only game he played in during the 2022 season. Sorsby left Cincinnati for a reported $5 million deal with Texas Tech, prompting Cincinnati to consider legal action against him for breaching his name, image, and likeness (NIL) contract. The university has refrained from commenting on the situation. Sorsby's college career includes 31 starts out of 35 games, with over 7,200 passing yards, 60 touchdowns, nearly 1,300 rushing yards, and 22 rushing touchdowns.
