James Gunn Reveals New Details About Upcoming Jimmy Olsen Series in the DC Universe

James Gunn has shared new details about the upcoming Superman spin-off series in the DC Universe featuring Jimmy Olsen, portrayed by Skyler Gisondo. The plot details for the show are currently being kept secret, and an official release date has not been announced. Olsen had a significant supporting role in a previous film led by David Corenswet.
Gunn confirmed that the Jimmy Olsen series will not be animated, responding to a fan's question about the use of Superman's Hypno-Glasses in the movie. While he did not address the signal watch from the comics that Olsen uses to summon Superman in emergencies, he clarified that the show will not be animated.
The series is currently untitled, despite previous rumors suggesting it was called "DC Crime." Gunn debunked this rumor and clarified that the show has never had that title. The show is being developed by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, known for their work on American Vandal, who are also serving as writers and showrunners.
In an interview, Perrault mentioned that the series has a title that has not been announced yet, confirming that it is not called "Untitled Jimmy Olsen show." The storyline is said to focus on Olsen and other Daily Planet reporters working on cases involving supervillains, with the first season expected to feature Gorilla Grodd as a prominent antagonist.
