University of Hawaii Volleyball Program Announces Departure of Head Coach Robyn Ah Mow

The University of Hawaii has made a significant announcement today regarding the departure of Robyn Ah Mow from the program. Ah Mow has been the Head Coach of the Rainbow Wahine since 2017, following her previous role as an assistant Coach from 2011-2015. In a statement released by the University of Hawaii, Ah Mow expressed that the decision to step down was driven by the need to prioritize her family after years of dedication to the program.
Throughout her tenure as Head Coach, Ah Mow led the team to an impressive 165-72 overall record and a remarkable 114-28 record in the Big West conference. Her coaching prowess was recognized with three Big West Coach of the Year awards and the AVCA Pacific North All-Region Coach of the Year accolade in 2019. Ah Mow's illustrious career also includes a successful collegiate playing experience at the University of Hawaii and a Silver Medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics as part of Team USA Volleyball.
Under Ah Mow's guidance, the Rainbow Wahine consistently excelled, making appearances in the NCAA Tournament for seven consecutive seasons. She secured three consecutive Big West regular-season championships and established herself as only the third Head Coach in the program's history. With Associate Head Coach Kaleo Baxter stepping in as the Interim Head Coach, the University of Hawaii Athletics Director has announced plans for a national search to find a suitable replacement for Ah Mow.
In conclusion, Robyn Ah Mow's departure marks the end of an era for the University of Hawaii volleyball program. Her legacy as a player and coach has left an indelible mark on the team, and her contributions will be remembered for years to come. The search for a new Head Coach presents an opportunity for the program to continue its tradition of excellence and build upon the foundation laid by Ah Mow.
