A woman was apprehended by authorities after allegedly firing shots inside a convenience store in Lincoln County, West Virginia. The incident occurred at a Shell station on Little Coal River Road early Friday morning. According to West Virginia State Police, the woman brandished a firearm at the store worker and indicated her intention to rob the establishment. A shot was fired, striking the wall, prompting the worker to inform the woman that the store owner was in the back counting money. The woman proceeded towards the back, only to discover that the owner was not present, and subsequently shot a camera in that area. The worker managed to flee the store and contact 911 for assistance.
Following the incident, the woman fled the scene in a black SUV heading northbound on U.S. 119. Law enforcement officers were able to apprehend her shortly afterward, along with a gun believed to have been used in the attempted robbery. The woman's identity has not been disclosed at this time.
