Jason Walker: A Guitarist's Journey Through Rock and Roll

Jason Walker, the guitarist for the Gene Simmons Band, has had a lifelong passion for music. From singing in his crib as a child to creating his own drum kit out of cans and welding rods, music has always been a central part of his life. Inspired by classic rock icons like Hendrix and Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Walker eventually picked up the guitar and never looked back.
Learning to play on his father's 12-string acoustic guitar, Walker honed his skills and developed his own style without consciously choosing a specific path. By the age of 14, he was already getting paid to play music, favoring his trusty Les Paul Standard for performances. A chance encounter with guitar legend Mike Varney in 2005 set Walker on a new trajectory, leading to a lasting friendship and mentorship that would shape his career.
Joining the Gene Simmons Band was a turning point for Walker, who impressed the bandmates with his vocal abilities during an audition. Embracing the opportunity to perform classic Kiss songs alongside rock legends, Walker transitioned from his beloved Les Paul to a Flying V for the stage. With a lineup of Marshall amps and boutique pedals, Walker is ready to rock the stage with the band.
Looking ahead, Walker is optimistic about the future of guitar-driven music and excited about upcoming projects with his band, Gravity Amplifiers. Their debut album, "Disclosure Vol. 1," featuring bass tracks by Nick Oliveri, is set for release in November. Additionally, Walker fronts a Soundgarden tribute band, showcasing his vocal prowess on the demanding Cornell tracks.
While juggling multiple musical endeavors, Walker remains focused on the upcoming shows with the Gene Simmons Band, pouring his energy into delivering unforgettable performances with the talented group. With a passion for music that spans decades, Jason Walker continues to make his mark in the world of rock and roll.
