Steven Tyler Faces Trial in Child Sexual Assault Lawsuit: Details and Updates

Steven Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith, is facing a trial in August in a child sexual assault lawsuit filed by Julia Misley, formerly known as Julia Holcomb. The lawsuit accuses Tyler of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress during their three-year relationship that began in 1973. Despite the dismissal of most of the lawsuit due to statutes of limitations, Tyler will still face a jury in Los Angeles County Superior Court on August 31. The case involves allegations that Tyler coerced Misley into a relationship when she was 16 years old, below the age of consent in California. The lawsuit also claims that Tyler pressured Misley into having an abortion and wrote about their relationship in his 2011 memoir. Tyler's lawyer hailed the dismissal of the majority of the claims as a significant victory for his client.
