Meet Luke Bamgboye: TCU Men's Basketball's Newest Addition for the 2026-27 Season

TCU men’s basketball recently added Texas Tech transfer forward Luke Bamgboye to its 2026-27 roster. Standing at 6-foot-11, Bamgboye began his college career at VCU before transferring to Texas Tech. During his time at Texas Tech, he played in 21 games, starting in 12, and averaged 4.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. Bamgboye is the third Division I transfer to join the Horned Frogs, following Gavin Sykes from LBSU and DJ Thomas from WVU.
During his freshman year, Bamgboye received recognition by being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team and the All-Rookie Team. Originally from London, Bamgboye contributed to Texas Tech's successful 2025-26 season, where they made it to the NCAA Tournament and reached the second round. TCU also made it to the second round of the tournament that year, falling to Duke after defeating Ohio State. Bamgboye, a three-star high school prospect, brings his skills and experience to the TCU team.
