J. K. Simmons Almost Missed Out on Playing Omni-Man in Invincible: The Inside Story

J. K. Simmons, known for his role as Omni-Man in Invincible, almost missed out on the part. The show's creator, Robert Kirkman, revealed that Simmons was initially offered a different role before landing the iconic character. Kirkman mentioned in a podcast that Simmons was likely considered for the role of Cecil Stedman before expressing his interest in playing Omni-Man.
After being offered a different character, Simmons preferred the role of Omni-Man and the creative team agreed to cast him in that role. This decision worked out well for everyone involved, and the role of Cecil was eventually given to Walton Goggins.
In a 2024 GQ interview, Simmons confirmed that he was initially approached for a different part in Invincible but didn't see himself in that role. He later accepted the role of Omni-Man after being approached again, not realizing the character's twisted nature at first.
All episodes of Invincible Season 4 are now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, with Season 5 expected to premiere in 2027. The show continues to captivate audiences with its compelling storyline and talented cast.
