James Gunn Teases Return of Mr. Handsome in 'Man of Tomorrow' Sequel

James Gunn has hinted at the return of a popular Superman character in the upcoming movie Man of Tomorrow. The film, set to hit theaters and IMAX screens in the United States next year, is a sequel to Superman and will feature David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult reprising their roles as Superman/Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, respectively. The star-studded cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, and more.

In a recent post on Threads, Gunn shared a photo of a sign that reads “Mr. Handsome Fan Club” with the caption “We’re live,” hinting at the character's involvement in Man of Tomorrow. Mr. Handsome, portrayed by Trevor Newlin, is a unique creation of Lex Luthor and plays a significant role in the storyline. Gunn has expressed his fondness for the character, describing him as a creation of Lex Luthor's childhood experiments and the only one the villain truly cares for.
