Rush's Fifty Something Tour: An Inside Look at the Band's Preparation and Exciting Lineup

Rush is gearing up for their Fifty Something tour, where they will be performing 38 songs. Geddy Lee, the band's bassist, is excited to play alongside Anika Nilles, who has taken on the challenging role of filling in for the late Neil Peart on drums. The band recently rehearsed in Toronto, and Lee expressed his joy at playing with Nilles, even jokingly admitting that he struggles to keep up with her during complex songs. Nilles has also received praise from Neil Peart's former drum tech, Lorne Wheaton, who has come out of retirement to work with her on the tour. Wheaton emphasized the importance of replicating Peart's original drum parts for certain signature songs to ensure the audience's satisfaction.
The band is diligently preparing for the tour, with rehearsals including 38 songs and Lee even working with a vocal coach to enhance his vocal range. The tour will kick off with four shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA, marking a significant return to the venue where Rush last performed with Neil Peart in 2015. The tour will then continue with dates across various cities in the United States, Canada, and internationally, including stops in Mexico City, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Detroit, Montreal, Boston, Cleveland, San Antonio, Denver, Seattle, San Jose, Washington, Uncasville, Hollywood, Tampa, Charlotte, Atlanta, Glendale, Edmonton, Vancouver, Buenos Aires, Curitiba, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Kraków, Milan, Basel, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, and Helsinki.
