Homicide Investigation in Hickory Grove Division: Suspect Arrested in Death of Isabella Mary Alexander Stroupe

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's homicide unit is currently investigating a homicide in the Hickory Grove Division. On May 1, officers responded to an unresponsive female, Isabella Mary Alexander Stroupe, 19, on Yateswood Drive, where she was pronounced deceased. Following an investigation, her death was ruled a homicide by the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner's office. Thomaz Kenon Hamilton, 24, was identified as a suspect and arrested by CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team on May 5 without incident. Hamilton is facing charges related to the case, and the victim's next of kin has been notified.
