Man Apprehended in Tennessee in Connection with Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident in Kalamazoo

A man has been apprehended in Tennessee and will be returned to Kalamazoo to face charges in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in March. Darqareoin Mills, 29, was taken into custody in Haywood County, Tennessee on warrants for second-degree murder and failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing death. He is set to be extradited to Michigan for arraignment. The charges are related to a crash on March 25 on S Westnedge Avenue near William Street in Kalamazoo, where 52-year-old Mark McBride was fatally struck. Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles speeding before the incident, leading to suspicions of street racing. The suspect vehicle, allegedly driven by Mills, fled the scene and was later found abandoned in Galesburg. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety is continuing its investigation and urges anyone with information to contact them or Kalamazoo Silent Observer.
