Triumph's Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded Tour: A Journey of Iconic Moments and Musical Revival
Triumph enthusiasts have been thrilled to witness the band's iconic moments during their Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded tour this spring. Rik Emmett's white double-neck Gibson guitar, reminiscent of the past, has been a highlight, especially during the performance of "Blinding Light Snow." Emmett was initially hesitant about bringing the heavy instrument on tour but was inspired by Alex Lifeson from Rush, who affectionately refers to his double-neck as "the Fat Bastard."
The tour, which commenced on April 10 in Florida and concludes on June 6 in Boston, with a makeup date in Quebec on June 10, marks Triumph's first full concerts since 2008 and their first full tour since 1988. While bassist-keyboardist Mike Levine is absent due to health reasons, Emmett and drummer Gil Moore are joined by guitarist Phil X, bassist Todd Kerns, and drummer Brent Fitz. The lineup has allowed Triumph to cover guitar and vocal parts that were previously unattainable as a trio.
Emmett, despite some physical challenges, is delighted to have the band back on the road after 51 years. The addition of new members has revitalized the group, enhancing vocal harmonies and musical dynamics. The band's performances have been met with enthusiasm, particularly the Toronto show, where Emmett's family attended, creating a memorable experience for all.
While Moore has been absent from the shows, he has been following the performances online and providing positive feedback.
