Apple TV's New Thriller Series 'Disavowed' Starring James Marsden: A High-Stakes CIA Manhunt

Apple TV has greenlit a new thriller series called Disavowed, with James Marsden taking on the lead role. The show is a collaboration between Apple Studios, Blue Marble Pictures, and creators Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, known for their work on Iron Man and Uncharted. This marks Marcum and Holloway's first venture into television, following their success in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Disavowed follows the story of CIA case officer Brad Griffin, played by Marsden, who is fired during a global manhunt for an assassin. Disgraced and isolated from the intelligence community, Brad decides to pursue the $15 million bounty on the assassin's head.
The series is based on an original concept by Marcum and Holloway, who will serve as executive producers alongside Tom Spezialy, Marsden, and producers from Blue Marble Pictures. Marsden, who is currently starring in Apple's Your Friends & Neighbors and Hulu's Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, has a diverse range of credits including Hulu's Paradise, Prime Video's Jury Duty, the Sonic the Hedgehog films, and Disney's Disenchanted. He is also set to reprise his role as Cyclops in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film.
Marsden is represented by CAA and Jackoway Austen, while Marcum and Holloway are represented by CAA and Untitled Entertainment. Disavowed promises to be a gripping thriller series that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats with its high-stakes storyline and talented cast.
