Hamburg Days": A New Drama Series Chronicles The Beatles' Early Years in Hamburg

The upcoming drama series "Hamburg Days" has announced its main cast as filming commences in Hamburg, Munich, and Liverpool. The series will focus on The Beatles' early days in Hamburg and stars Rhys Mannion as John Lennon, Ellis Murphy as Paul McCartney, Harvey Brett as George Harrison, Louis Landau as Stu Sutcliffe, Patrick Gilmore as Pete Best, Luna Jordan as Astrid Kirchherr, Casper von Bülow as Klaus Voorman, Laura Tonke as Nielsa Kirchherr, Trystan Pütter, and Max von der Groeben.
Created by showrunner Christian Schwochow and head writer Jamie Carragher, the series is inspired by Klaus Voormann's autobiography. Set in the 1960s in Hamburg's St. Pauli district, the show follows the collision of a young rock 'n' roll band from Liverpool with artists Klaus Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr, leading to the rise of The Beatles.
The music for the series is curated by music producer David Holmes. Produced by W&B Television and Turbine Studios, with co-financiers AGC Television and German broadcaster ZDF, the series has been acquired by the BBC for BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
Directed by Christian Schwochow and Laura Lackmann, with Frank Lamm as director of photography, the series features Klaus Voormann as an exclusive consultant. Executive producers include Benjamin Benedict, Quirin Berg, Max Wiedemann, Andrew Eaton, Justin Thomson, Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz, Miguel A. Palos Jr., Isabel Haug, and Katharina Haase.
