Penguins Secure Key Re-Signings for 2026-27 Season

The Penguins have made some key re-signings ahead of the 2026-27 season. Forward Connor Dewar has inked a two-year, $2.25 million per year contract, following a successful 2025-26 season where he tallied 30 points. Dewar was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs in a trade that also involved defenseman Conor Timmins. Timmins, who briefly played for the Penguins, was later traded to Buffalo. Additionally, defenseman Ilya Solovyov has signed a one-year, $850,000 deal after being acquired from the Colorado Avalanche earlier in the year. Solovyov contributed five assists in 14 games with the Penguins and had a total of eight points in 30 NHL games last season. The Penguins still have several key players as unrestricted free agents, including Evgeni Malkin, Kevin Hayes, and Anthony Mantha among others.
