Unexpected Collaboration: The Cure's Robert Smith Joins The Rolling Stones on New Album 'Foreign Tongues

The unexpected collaboration between The Cure's Robert Smith and The Rolling Stones on their upcoming album, Foreign Tongues, has taken music fans by surprise. Mick Jagger shared how Smith ended up on the album during a recording session at Metropolis Studios in London. The collaboration came about spontaneously, with Jagger inviting Smith to contribute to the record after a chance encounter in the studio.

Foreign Tongues, the Stones' 25th studio album and the follow-up to Hackney Diamonds, was produced by Andrew Watt and features guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The album was recorded in a short period at Metropolis Studios, capturing the passion and energy of the sessions.

The first single from the album, "In The Stars," has already been released, giving fans a taste of what to expect from Foreign Tongues. Despite the album's imminent release on July 10 via Polydor/Universal Music, there are currently no live shows scheduled to accompany the launch. The Rolling Stones will hit the stage when they are ready, according to a band spokesperson.
