Amara: A Supernatural Horror Film by K-Movie Entertainment Set to Thrill Audiences at Cannes

K-Movie Entertainment is set to introduce Amara, a supernatural horror film, at the Cannes market. Directed by Roar Uthaug, known for Troll and Tomb Raider, the English-language movie is a collaboration with screenwriter Espen Aukan. The plot revolves around a group of backpackers in Thailand who encounter a curse linked to an unsolved death, blending supernatural elements with paranoia inspired by Southeast Asian folklore. The project is produced by Yeti Entertainment and Two Magpies Entertainment, with Jonathan Spink as executive producer.

Uthaug, the director behind successful films like Troll and Tomb Raider, described Amara as a fast-paced horror experience that transforms a carefree trip into a nightmare. The team aims to create a globally accessible horror film that keeps audiences on edge throughout. This marks K-Movie Entertainment's first English-language project, expanding its portfolio beyond Korean blockbusters like The Roundup.

In addition to Amara, K-Movie Entertainment's Cannes lineup includes an Indonesian remake of The Man From Nowhere starring Joe Taslim and directed by Kenji Tanigaki, as well as Pendekar: Warrior featuring Iko Uwais. The company is venturing into new territories with diverse and captivating projects that cater to a global audience.
