Deep Purple Announces 'Splat!' Album Release and World Tour Dates

Deep Purple is set to release their new album 'Splat!' and embark on a world tour later this year. The iconic rock band, fronted by Ian Gillan, will drop their 24th studio album on July 3 through earMUSIC. The album, produced by Bob Ezrin, is said to be one of their heaviest in years, with tracks recorded live in the studio. Gillan expressed that the band's current sound harks back to their classic era of the '70s, reminiscent of hits like 'Highway Star' and 'Smoke on the Water'.

The album 'Splat!' will be available in various formats, including a 2LP gatefold boxset, CD digisleeve, and exclusive vinyl records featuring live recordings from their 2024 tour. Additionally, an exclusive 7" vinyl with a bonus track 'GUINNESIS' will be included. Deep Purple will kick off an extensive 86-date world tour, with a notable show at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 25. Tickets for the tour are already on sale for both UK/Europe and North America dates.

The tour will cover various cities across Europe, including stops in Finland, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, and more. In August, the band will head to North America, with performances in cities like Raleigh, Memphis, Clearwater, Hollywood, and more. The tour will continue through September and October, with shows in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Serbia, Greece, and other countries. The tour will conclude with dates in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, and more in December.

Despite facing challenges with his eyesight, Gillan remains committed to the band and their music. He revealed last year that he has only 30% vision but has found ways to adapt, especially when working on his laptop. Retirement may be on the horizon, but for now, Deep Purple is focused on delivering their signature sound to fans around the world.
