Man Or Bear: Survival Thriller Starring Lauren LaVera and Jaime Saginor Set to Launch at Cannes
Priscilla Ross Smith and Kendall Anlian from The Coven are teaming up with Lauren LaVera, known for her role as the "final girl" in the Terrifier franchise, to launch sales for the survival thriller Man Or Bear at Cannes. Directed by Teresa Sutherland, the film follows Alex, a female backpacker who crosses paths with a suspicious male hiker in the wilderness. As the situation escalates, Alex must trust her instincts to survive a deadly encounter with a wilderness predator. The project is inspired by a real-life backpacking experience and explores the theme of intuition in life-threatening situations. Production is set to start this summer, with Jaime Saginor playing a supporting role in the film. The team behind the project has been working diligently to transform the award-winning short film into a full-length feature, with Saginor's vision guiding the way. The film taps into a popular TikTok thought experiment that poses the question of whether women would rather face a man or a bear in the forest. The Coven, known for their work on the Terrifier films, will handle international sales for Man Or Bear. Cannes sales slate also includes other projects like Remnant, Blood Wine, and The Voices Of Our Mother.
