Britain Imposes Sanctions on Iran-Linked Individuals and Entities for Hostile Activities

Britain has imposed sanctions on 12 individuals and entities connected to Iran for their involvement in hostile activities, such as plotting attacks and providing financial services to destabilize the UK and other countries. The sanctions target members and associates of the Zindashti criminal network, exchange houses, and financial operators engaged in Iranian-backed hostile activities, including threats, planning, or carrying out attacks in Britain and beyond. Iran has denied any involvement in attacks or plots in the UK and elsewhere.
Some individuals were sanctioned for direct participation in hostile acts, while others were accused of providing financial services or other support to facilitate such activities. The sanctions include asset freezes, travel bans, and director disqualification orders. The sanctioned financial entities were found to have provided services to individuals and groups involved in destabilizing activities, enabling networks connected to Iran to move and access funds despite international restrictions.
Recent arson attacks on Jewish targets in London prompted police to investigate possible Iran links, leading to counter-terrorism inquiries and warnings about hostile activities by Tehran or its affiliates. The UK raised its national terrorism threat level to "severe," citing an increased risk of attacks and growing concerns about hostile activities linked to foreign states, including Iran.
