Ephraim Owens to Perform 'America the Beautiful' at the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500

Ephraim Owens, a talented musician and former contestant on “The Voice,” will be performing “America the Beautiful” during the prerace ceremonies for this year’s Indianapolis 500. Owens, a native of Indiana, previously sang the same song at the 2025 Indy 500 and also performed the national anthem at the Brickyard 400 presented by PPG in 2024. His upcoming performance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will mark another memorable moment in his musical career.

Doug Boles, the president of INDYCAR and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, praised Owens for his love for Indiana and his musical talents. Owens, who grew up on Delaware Street in downtown Indianapolis, comes from a family deeply involved in the arts. His early exposure to music at his grandmother’s church and his participation in musicals and summer theater at Footlite Musical set the stage for his musical journey.

During his time at Lawrence Central High School, Owens was a member of The Central Sound show choir, which further honed his musical skills and passion for performance. His upbringing in a creative environment and his involvement with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir alongside his siblings laid the foundation for his successful music career.

The 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is set to take place on Sunday, May 24. Owens’ performance of “America the Beautiful” at the event will serve as a heartfelt tribute to the country as part of the celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary and the longstanding traditions of the iconic Indy 500.
