Super Bowl LXI to Reach Spanish-Speaking Fans Through ESPN Deportes and Univision Broadcasts

The upcoming Super Bowl LXI will be broadcast on two Spanish-language outlets, increasing Disney's revenue from the event. ESPN will air the game on ESPN Deportes and sublicense a telecast to Univision in the U.S. Both networks will produce separate Spanish-language presentations with dedicated commentary teams. Disney will also broadcast the game in English on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC.

Oscar Ramos, vice president of digital content at ESPN Deportes, expressed excitement about collaborating with TelevisaUnivision to provide Spanish-speaking fans in the U.S. access to Super Bowl LXI. Univision previously aired a Spanish-language version of the Super Bowl in 2024 and sold advertising separately from the English-language broadcast.

TelevisaUnivision's president of sports, Olek Loewenstein, highlighted the growing Hispanic audience's passion for the NFL and the importance of delivering the Super Bowl in Spanish to connect with viewers culturally and linguistically. The agreement aims to reach millions of Spanish-speaking fans in the U.S. through Univision's broadcast network and ESPN Deportes.

The partnership between ESPN and TelevisaUnivision will enhance Spanish-language access to Super Bowl LXI, expanding the game's reach to a broader audience. This collaboration aligns with ESPN's Year of the Super Bowl initiative and underscores the networks' commitment to serving Hispanic NFL fans.

ESPN Deportes will air its fourth Super Bowl telecast in 2027, while TelevisaUnivision holds the rights to broadcast NFL games in Mexico on traditional TV platforms. The agreement between the two networks will provide an enhanced viewing experience for Spanish-speaking audiences during the highly anticipated Super Bowl event.
