The Beatles: Let It Be Documentary Returns After 50 Years on Disney+

On May 13, 1970, The Beatles documentary Let It Be premiered in New York City. Directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, the film provided a behind-the-scenes look at the band as they recorded their album Let It Be. It featured footage from The Beatles' final public performance on the rooftop of Apple Corps in January 1969. The documentary was released a month after the Beatles disbanded.

In 2021, Peter Jackson used footage from Let It Be in his Emmy-winning docuseries, The Beatles: Get Back, which aired on Disney+. The documentary was restored and made available on Disney+ in May 2024, marking the first time it was accessible in over 50 years.

Disney, the parent company of ABC News, holds the rights to the documentary.
