Ween Celebrates 30th Anniversary of '12 Golden Country Greats' with Special Three-Record Edition Release

Ween is set to mark the 30th anniversary of their 1996 album "12 Golden Country Greats" with a special three-record edition release. The expanded version, scheduled for release on July 17, will include 20 previously unreleased demos and outtakes. The album marked a departure from the band's earlier recording methods, as they collaborated with Nashville studio legends for a more polished sound. The new additions to the expanded edition include a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Fool to Cry" and a tribute to Jerry Garcia titled "So Long Jerry."
Originally released with only 10 songs, "12 Golden Country Greats" will now include the two tracks that were cut from the record, "I've Got No Darkside" and "So Long, Jerry," along with other unreleased songs like "Boston Chicken" and "Good Timing Rhyming Song." Ween recently announced a hiatus from live performances, but they have been active in releasing archival material, including the CD collection "Bring Out the Foos: Live 1996" and the triple-vinyl set "Europe '90."
The deluxe edition of "12 Golden Country Greats" will feature the original remastered album on the first LP, 12 demos on the second LP, and 14 outtakes and demos on the third LP. The tracklist includes fan favorites like "I'm Holding You," "Piss Up A Rope," and "Mister Richard Smoker," as well as previously unreleased demos and outtakes. Ween fans can look forward to this special release celebrating the iconic album's anniversary.
