Wildwood: Laika's Enchanting Adventure Set to Hit Theaters This October
Laika, the renowned stop-motion studio, is set to release its sixth feature film, "Wildwood," this year. Directed by Laika CEO Travis Knight, known for "Kubo and the Two Strings," the movie is based on Colin Meloy's 2011 children's fantasy novel. The story follows Prue McKeel, a determined teenager on a mission to rescue her baby brother from an enchanted forest near Portland, Oregon. Joined by her classmate Curtis Mehlberg, Prue encounters talking animals, bandits, and powerful figures in a conflict that threatens the forest's balance.
The voice cast of "Wildwood" includes Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Richard E. Grant, Angela Bassett, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, and more. The film is set to hit theaters nationwide on October 23, distributed by Fathom Entertainment. This release marks one of Fathom Entertainment's first non-limited-engagement or event releases.
