Subaru Electrifies the Market: Price Cuts on Solterra and Trailseeker Electric SUVs

Subaru has joined the electric car price war by reducing the prices of its Solterra and Trailseeker electric SUVs. The base variant of the Solterra now starts at $61,990, down by $2000, while the range-topping Touring grade is priced at $67,990. The Trailseeker EV has also seen a price cut of $4000, with prices starting at $63,990 and going up to $69,990 for the Touring grade. Both models offer impressive driving ranges and dual-motor setups for all-wheel-drive performance.

The Solterra lineup boasts a driving range of 566km for the regular variant and 517km for the Touring grade. With a dual-motor setup producing 252kW and 337Nm, the Solterra offers a powerful and efficient driving experience. On the other hand, the Trailseeker EV features dual-motor grunt with 280kW and 537Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in about 4.5 seconds. The Trailseeker is equipped with a circa-75kWh battery that provides a driving range of 533km for the base version and 488km for the Touring grade.

Subaru's latest addition to its electric vehicle lineup is the Uncharted compact electric SUV, priced at $59,990. All three SUVs, including the Solterra, Trailseeker, and Uncharted, have been developed in collaboration with Toyota. The bZ4X serves as the counterpart to the Solterra and Trailseeker, while the Uncharted is equivalent to the bZ4X Touring and C-HR+ EV. Subaru encourages customers who have already placed orders to contact their dealer to inquire about the updated pricing.

In response to the growing competition in the electric vehicle market, Subaru has taken steps to make its EVs more affordable and appealing to customers. With other automakers like Hyundai, Cadillac, Volvo, and Zeekr also reducing prices on their electric cars, the industry is becoming increasingly competitive. Additionally, the introduction of new Chinese electric models is further driving down the entry price for electric vehicles, prompting established manufacturers to adjust their pricing strategies. Despite facing stiff competition, Subaru aims to increase its electric vehicle sales and remain competitive in the evolving automotive landscape.
