Ahmad Hardy, a star running back from the University of Missouri, was injured in a shooting incident at a concert in Laurel. The suspect, 20-year-old Rashodrick Harris from Waynesboro, was arrested in Paducah, Ky., after his car tag was identified in the NCIC database. Harris is currently awaiting extradition to Mississippi.

The arrest of Harris took place without incident around 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The Laurel Police Department is working on the extradition process, and if Harris resists, a governor's warrant may be necessary. Harris was identified as a suspect after being seen in video footage of the shooting, and one of the victims positively identified him.

Following the shooting, three men were briefly detained but later released by the LPD. Ahmad Hardy, who was hit in the upper leg during the incident, has been discharged from the hospital and has returned to Missouri. The University of Missouri expressed their support for Hardy and his family during this challenging time, stating that his timeline for returning to football activities is uncertain.

Ahmad Hardy, a standout player in the SEC, had an impressive season with 1,649 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. He is a former player from Lawrence County High School in Monticello. The University of Missouri and his supporters are standing by him as he recovers from the shooting incident.
