Virginia Tech Softball's NCAA Regional Hosting Dilemma: A Look at Accommodations and Challenges

Virginia Tech made a strong case to host an NCAA softball regional by offering accommodations in Roanoke, Wytheville, West Virginia, and even dorm rooms at Radford. Coach Pete D'Amour and the Hokies are gearing up to face South Alabama in an NCAA regional at LSU this Friday. The challenge of finding available hotel rooms in Blacksburg due to the graduation ceremony made hosting the regional a bit more complicated. Despite the potential of being a top-16 seed, the committee would not allow Tech to host a regional because of the lack of available hotel rooms in the Blacksburg area. The Virginia Tech softball team is ready to kick off the tournament against South Alabama in a four-team, double-elimination NCAA regional at LSU.
