El Ser Querido": A Cannes Success Story with Javier Bardem and Victoria Luengo

The film "El Ser Querido" starring Javier Bardem received a warm reception at its Cannes premiere, with a seven-minute applause in the Grand Theatre Lumiere. Bardem embraced his fellow cast members and director following the screening. Directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen and written by Sorogoyen and Isabel Peña, the film also features Victoria Luengo. The story follows an acclaimed film director and his daughter, an unsuccessful actress, as they collaborate on a film after years of estrangement and a troubled past. Bardem, known for his roles in international films like "Dune: Part Two" and "The Little Mermaid," last appeared in the Spanish film "The Good Boss," earning a Goya for Best Actor. Luengo, who starred in Pedro Almódovar's "The Room Next Door" and the series "Riot Police," won the Ondas Award for Best Actress. Sorogoyen, acclaimed for his film "The Beasts," directed the project, which is a Movistar Plus+ original film co-produced with Caballo Films, El Ser Querido AIE, and Le Pacte (France). Financed by ICAA and the Creative Europe Media Program, the film will have a theatrical release through A Contracorriente Films before being exclusively available on Movistar Plus+. International sales will be managed by Goodfellas.
