Ember végez: Films Boutique Acquires Sales Rights for Gábor Reisz's Latest Film

Films Boutique has acquired the sales rights for Gabor Reisz's latest film, Ember végez, which recently finished filming in Budapest. The story is set in modern-day Hungary and follows Kristóf, who discovers black mold behind his cabinet, leading to a series of events that disrupt his life. The film explores the question of whether the building or Kristóf's apathy will crumble first. The cast includes Adam Tompa, Bettina Jozsa, Rodrigo Crespo, and Gyorgy Gaszo, with Reisz co-writing the script with Eva Schulze. Julia Berkes produces for Proton Cinema in Hungary, with Andrea Romeo co-producing for All At Once in Italy. Distribution will be handled by I Wonder Pictures in Italy and Cirko Film in Hungary. This marks Reisz's fourth feature film, following his award-winning title Explanation For Everything at the Venice Film Festival in 2023.
"We are thrilled to work with Gábor Reisz again after the success of Explanation for Everything," said Films Boutique CEO Jean-Christophe Simon. "Gábor's unique storytelling style, reminiscent of Joachim Trier, offers a humorous and insightful look at the world through eccentric characters. The film's exploration of Kristóf's personal journey and its reflection of Hungarian society's contradictions make for a compelling narrative."
