The Kansas Insurance Commissioner, Vicki Schmidt, has announced the winners of a financial literacy essay scholarship contest sponsored by the Securities Division of the Kansas Department of Insurance. The contest, which was part of the Jobs for Americas’ Graduates-Kansas (JAG-K) program, awarded $10,000 in scholarship funds to three JAG-K students. Eric Bustillos Andrade from Newton High School took first place and received $5,000, while Amiyah Beard, also from Newton High School, came in second place and received $3,000. Collin Falloon from Beloit High School secured third place and was awarded $2,000.
