Viral Video Incident at Tampa Bank: Newly Released Body Camera Footage Reveals Truth
A video of a Black man being approached by a Tampa police officer outside a bank went viral, prompting the release of newly obtained police body camera footage. The incident took place at a Chase Bank location on Kennedy Boulevard, where the officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle just before the bank's opening time at 9 a.m. The driver, who was waiting for the bank to open, was mistakenly reported to have an open container of alcohol, which was actually a Red Bull energy drink. He explained that he was there for business related to his Airbnb properties.
After clarifying the misunderstanding with the bank staff, the officer informed the driver that the bank was now open. Chase Bank issued a statement regarding the incident.
