The deal was finalized between Wild Duck and Alief, with Spanish dubbing set to begin soon.
"Bokshi," which means "witch" in Nepali, has undergone creative changes since its initial premiere, focusing more on eroticism and dread. The film follows Anahita, a troubled teen, and her encounter with a mysterious history teacher during a school excursion to an ancient site. As connections to a cult worshipping the feared demoness Bokshi emerge, the journey takes a dark turn.
Shot across remote Himalayan locations, the film features dialogue in multiple languages, including a fictional one created specifically for the movie. Saikia aims to explore themes of women empowerment and humanity's relationship with nature through the cautionary tale presented in "Bokshi."
