Europa Cinemas Collaborate To Innovate: Empowering European Cinemas Through Innovation and Collaboration

Europa Cinemas has announced the selection of nine projects for its Collaborate To Innovate scheme, providing funding to 51 member cinemas across Europe. One of the selected projects is Cineville Denmark, which aims to introduce a Danish version of the unlimited subscription scheme for independent cinemas. The projects supported by Collaborate to Innovate focus on promoting European films, enhancing audience development, particularly among young audiences, and improving the competitiveness of cinemas. Europa Cinemas offers grants of up to €120,000 per project, with a total of 20 applications received from cinemas in 16 different countries.
Among the selected projects is Radiobox Cinema from France, which explores radio as a participatory medium within cinemas. Another project, Cinemas Immersifs, aims to integrate immersive works into cinema programming in western France. Gen-C: Cinema For The Next Generation from Italy addresses the decline in young cinema audiences through education and professional training for cinema staff. Accessibility Mark Cinema Without Barriers in Poland focuses on making cinemas more accessible to underrepresented audiences.
European Cinema Pass Serbia aims to strengthen the presence of European films in independent cinemas across Serbia through a collaborative subscription-based model. Inclucine 2 from Slovakia and the Czech Republic introduces a systemic model for accessible and inclusive cinema. Kinebridge from Spain offers a cloud-based software platform to streamline cinema operations, while Re:Cine in Spain pilots a collaborative cinema subscription model among independent cinemas.
The selected projects cover a range of innovative and collaborative initiatives that aim to enhance the cinema experience, promote European films, and engage diverse audiences. Europa Cinemas' Collaborate To Innovate scheme continues to support cinemas in their efforts to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing industry landscape.
