Media Asia has finalized several deals for the sequel to Soi Cheang's film "Twilight Of The Warriors: Walled In" at the Cannes market. The upcoming film, titled "Twilight Of The Warriors: The Final Chapter," has already been presold to various countries including France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. The response from buyers has been positive, even though filming only began in mid-April.
Daniel Wu has joined the cast of the sequel, marking his return to Hong Kong cinema after his recent Hollywood projects. The film will also feature returning cast members Raymond Lam, Terrance Lau, German Cheung, and Tony Wu. The story is set in the early 1990s and centers around the demolition of the Kowloon Walled City, drawing inspiration from the novel "City Of Darkness" by Yuyi.
The sequel is adapted by Au Kin Yee and Shum Kwan Sin, who previously collaborated on Soi Cheang's noir thriller "Limbo." The film rights to the novel are owned by Angus Chan's Entertaining Power.
