2026 ACM Awards Highlights: Ella Langley Shines Bright Amongst Country Music Stars
Cody Johnson was awarded entertainer of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards, but it was Ella Langley who stole the show with multiple wins. Langley took home the song of the year award for "Choosin’ Texas" and later won single of the year for the same song. She also won music event of the year for her duet with Riley Green and female artist of the year. Johnson, on the other hand, won male artist of the year and dedicated his entertainer of the year award to Luke Combs.
The 61st annual ACM Awards kicked off with a performance by Lainey Wilson, followed by performances from top artists like Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, and Jordan Davis. Hosted by Shania Twain, the event featured performances by Avery Anna, Green, Zach Top, Little Big Town, and The Red Clay Strays. Awards were presented to The Red Clay Strays for group of the year and Brooks & Dunn for duo of the year.
Before the main event, Langley was named artist-songwriter of the year, while Jessie Jo Dillon won songwriter of the year. Stephen Wilson Jr. received the visual media of the year award. New female and male artists of the year were awarded to Anna and Wetmore, respectively. The night also featured performances by Parker McCollum, Kacey Musgraves, Carter Faith, Johnson, and Kane Brown.
McCollum's self-titled album won album of the year, beating out other nominees like Morgan Wallen and Zach Top. The event concluded with performances by Dan + Shay and Blake Shelton, paying tribute to industry legends. The 2026 ACM Awards were streamed on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch.
