Einride and EASE Logistics Partner to Deploy Autonomous Trucks in Ohio's Truck Automation Corridor Project
Einride and EASE Logistics have joined forces to introduce SAE Level 4 autonomous trucks in a proof-of-concept service between EASE Logistics warehouses in Marysville, Ohio. This initiative is part of the Truck Automation Corridor Project by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and DriveOhio, in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), to assess the impact of autonomous technology on operations, safety, and freight efficiency. The deployment will involve two of Einride's advanced L4 autonomous electric trucks operating on EASE property and local public roads, transporting goods between warehouses to gather data on operational impacts.
The autonomous trucks deployed by Einride are cab-less electric vehicles that operate without a driver, capable of autonomously navigating routes and handling various driving scenarios. These trucks are monitored remotely by an operator who can intervene if necessary, ensuring smooth and safe operations. This deployment marks EASE Logistics' third autonomous trucking initiative in partnership with DriveOhio, demonstrating their commitment to testing multiple autonomous freight platforms in real-world operational settings.
