SEPTA Announces Enhanced Transportation Services for FIFA World Cup and Fan Festival Events in Philadelphia

SEPTA has announced new transportation services to support the influx of fans expected in Philadelphia for the FIFA World Cup and FIFA Fan Festival events. The mass transit provider will offer additional services during the six matches scheduled for the events. SEPTA officials are prepared to accommodate the thousands of visitors expected to use their system for safe and reliable transportation during the events. Extra trips will be available on the Broad Street Line to and from NRG Station for each match, with an expected ridership of approximately 31,000 per match.

During match days, the Broad Street Line and Market-Frankford Line will operate overnight, with trains running every 30 minutes to select stations. SEPTA will also provide additional service for Bus Routes 32 and 48, which serve the Lemon Hill area for the FIFA Fan Festival. The festival, which is free and open to the public, will have weekday bus service every 15 minutes or less from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Temporary residential parking permits will be required near Lemon Hill during the FIFA World Cup.

Riding the Broad Street Line to matches during the FIFA World Cup will cost the same as any other trip on that line, which is $2.90. Airbnb will cover the cost of rides on the Broad Street Line for fans heading home from NRG Station after matches, starting at halftime and ending two hours after each match concludes. SEPTA will also have ambassadors at select trains to assist fans commuting to and from events. For more information on SEPTA schedules for the FIFA World Cup, visit their website.
