Steps: A Magical Tale of Sisterhood and Kindness

Netflix's upcoming animated feature, "Steps," has announced that Bette Midler will voice the character of the fairy godmother. The star-studded cast also includes Amanda Seyfried as Cinderella, Ali Wong as Lilith, and Stephanie Hsu as Margot. Midler expressed her excitement about playing a version of the Fairy Godmother who is a bit of a bumbler and a schemer, with good intentions.

Directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, "Steps" offers a fresh take on the classic fairy tale by focusing on the relationship between the evil stepsisters Lilith and Margot. When Lilith accidentally turns Margot into a frog and disrupts the Royal Ball, she must team up with Cinderella and a dreamy troll to save the kingdom and mend the fractured fairytale. Alyce Tzue shared that the film's narrative is deeply personal to her, drawing from her own experiences of feeling like an outsider growing up. She wanted to create a story that resonates with anyone who has ever felt like they didn't belong and show how a simple act of kindness can change everything. "Steps" is set to be released later this year, promising a heartwarming and empowering tale for audiences of all ages.
