2026 National Television Awards: Nominations, Categories, and Potential Winners Revealed
The National Television Awards (NTAs) have revealed the longlists for 2026, with Manchester's Tyson Fury and Coronation Street among the potential winners. The ceremony, hosted by Joel Dommett, will take place on September 8 at The O2 in London and will be broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX. A new category, Reality Docuseries, will feature shows starring celebrities like Tyson Fury, Gordon Ramsay, Vinnie Jones, and Danny Dyer competing for the inaugural award. This category joins existing ones like Reality Competition, which includes shows like The Traitors, I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, and Love Island.
The NTAs have announced the long-list of nominations for this year's awards, with Alan Carr, Ant and Dec, Alison Hammond, Claudia Winkleman, and Sir David Attenborough vying for the title of best TV presenter. Sir David Attenborough, who recently turned 100, has received nods in five different programmes in the Factual Entertainment category. The Drama Performance category features stars like Dame Emma Thompson, Martin Clunes, Tom Hiddleston, and Brenda Blethyn, while the Authored Documentary category includes shows with appearances from Caroline Flack and Ozzy Osbourne.
Comedy nominations include shows like Amandaland, Here We Go, Small Prophets, and Alan Carr’s Changing Ends. Alan Carr is also recognized in the Quiz Show and Talent Show categories for his various programs. Serial drama nominations feature popular soaps like Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, and Home and Away, with actors from these shows competing for Serial Drama Performance. The new Reality Docuseries category includes shows like At Home With The Furys, Being Gordon Ramsay, and Clarkson’s Farm.
Other categories at the NTAs include New Drama, Returning Drama, Daytime, and The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award. The latter category includes shows like The Assembly, The Masked Singer, and The Graham Norton Show.
