ACT Expands U.S. Manufacturing for Liquid-Cooled Data Center Cold Plates

ACT, a global leader in thermal management solutions, has announced a significant expansion of its U.S. manufacturing operations to support the production of cold plates for liquid-cooled data center applications. The new 50,000-square-foot facility in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, will focus on high-volume production of single-phase and two-phase cold plates for AI processors and high-performance computing platforms.

The expansion aims to meet the increasing demand for liquid cooling in data centers as thermal requirements evolve rapidly. With an initial production capacity exceeding 500,000 cold plates annually, the facility will align manufacturing capacity with technical performance to deliver high-quality, domestically manufactured solutions.

Cold plate-based liquid cooling has become essential for AI and high-density compute deployments as power densities rise and air-cooling reaches its limits. ACT's cold plates feature advanced internal flow structures, optimized heat transfer surfaces, and material selections to ensure superior thermal performance and long-term reliability in high-density rack environments.

The new facility will focus on delivering highly thermally efficient, reliable, repeatable, and scalable cold plate solutions for liquid-cooled data centers. Customers can expect performance and consistency at production scale, all manufactured in the U.S. ACT has launched an expansion page with detailed information on the facility, production capabilities, and cold plate solutions for liquid-cooled data centers.
