The series, created by Madeleine Bernadotte and Karini Gustafson-Teixeira, consists of 20 seven-minute episodes and follows the story of three children who discover a mythical group of islands with a big secret that could change their lives and save the world. The animated series is produced by OYA Copenhagen, the studio behind "Mia's Magical Playground," with executive producers Camilla Hammer and Sarita Christensen. Directed by Peter Egeberg and written by Myles McLeod, Pelle Møller, and Evgenia Golubeva, "Hidden Islands" has received support from the Public Service Fund in Denmark and development financing from Midnight Sun in Sweden. The series will premiere on SkyShowtime later this year, adding to the platform's lineup of Swedish SkyShowtime Originals.
