Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Rashee Rice Tests Positive for THC, Faces Jail Time for Probation Violation

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has tested positive for THC, a violation of his probation stemming from a multi-car crash in Dallas over two years ago. Court documents indicate that Rice will serve 30 days in jail and be released on June 16. Despite attempts to reach out to Rice's attorneys and the Chiefs, there has been no response.
Last season, the 25-year-old Rice was suspended for the first six games by the NFL for violating the personal conduct policy after causing a multi-car crash in Dallas in March 2024. He was driving recklessly at speeds close to 120 mph, left the scene of the accident, and later admitted fault in a statement. Rice surrendered to authorities upon the issuance of an arrest warrant and pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges in July, resulting in a 30-day jail sentence and five years of probation. He was also required to cover the victims' medical expenses.
During the previous season, Rice recorded 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a 6-11 record and missed the playoffs.
