Meet B.J. Snow: Athletic Grand Rapids' New VP of Sporting Operations and Strategy

Athletic Grand Rapids, the new MLS NEXT Pro expansion team in Grand Rapids, has appointed B.J. Snow as its vice president of sporting operations and strategy. Snow expressed his enthusiasm for joining the team and contributing to its growth. He will collaborate closely with President/General Manager Darius Barnes to oversee various aspects of sporting operations, such as player development, scouting, recruitment, and strategic planning.
Having previously served on the U.S. Women’s National Team coaching staff, Snow brings valuable experience in player recruitment and opposition analysis, particularly during the team's successful championship campaigns in 2015 and 2019. His role at Athletic Grand Rapids will involve focusing on player development and establishing a partnership with the Michigan Futbol Academy to support local players in the region.
Barnes emphasized Snow's pivotal role in shaping the sporting side of the club, highlighting his expertise in understanding the game, creating systems and standards, and fostering alignment across the organization. Snow's appointment signifies the team's commitment to building a strong foundation for player growth and development within the Grand Rapids community.
The inaugural season for Athletic Grand Rapids is scheduled for 2027, with games taking place at the newly constructed Amway Stadium. The team's vision of creating a culture that nurtures individual growth and empowerment aligns with Snow's philosophy of developing people to achieve their full potential.
